Who We Are

A Trú Place is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization committed to empowering single Black mothers and their children while welcoming all families experiencing hardship.

Our work is intentionally centered on addressing the unique barriers disproportionately affecting Black mothers, including housing instability, economic inequity, limited access to resources, and systemic challenges.

Through housing navigation, peer support, mental wellness services, workforce development, financial empowerment, and community partnerships, we help mothers build stability, restore confidence, and create lasting opportunities for themselves and their children.

Our Approach

We collaborate with local colleges, workforce development programs, healthcare providers, faith-based organizations, and community partners to connect families with education, employment opportunities, housing resources, counseling, and essential support services.

Our goal is not simply to meet immediate needs, but to walk alongside mothers as they build sustainable, long-term stability for themselves, their children, and future generations.

Our Mission

Our Mission

A Trú Place exists to empower single Black mothers and their children by removing barriers to stability through housing support, mental wellness, economic opportunity, and community connection.

While our programs are intentionally designed to address the unique challenges disproportionately affecting Black mothers, we welcome and support all families experiencing hardship.

Through peer support, counseling, financial literacy, workforce development, essential resources, and trusted community partnerships, we equip mothers with the tools, relationships, and opportunities needed to build long-term self-sufficiency and generational success.

Our Vision

We envision a future where no single Black mother has to navigate poverty, housing instability, or systemic barriers alone.

We are building a community where mothers have equitable access to stable housing, mental wellness support, meaningful employment, entrepreneurship opportunities, and the resources needed to thrive—not just survive.

By bringing together nonprofits, educational institutions, healthcare providers, employers, faith-based organizations, and businesses, A Trú Place is creating a connected ecosystem that transforms crisis into stability and stability into generational success.

Our Commitment

We do not believe in temporary solutions.

Our work is rooted in long-term impact—ensuring that every individual we serve is not only supported in the moment, but positioned for continued growth, independence, and generational stability.
